And SO it begins!

29 Jan

TOday was the day!

For what you ask?

TOday was the day that I made a batch of soap.

*hahahaha,  caution ramble about to happen…..*

❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

THE first batch of soap since October 2014. YES! that is just what I said October 2014. I can’t believe it’s been that long it seems like just yesterday. But it wasn’t like yesterday. My hubby told me I should make a test batch because it’s been so long.

❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

Did I listen?  Did I listen?

The answer to that question would be NO! Hahaha, NO  of coarse I didn’t listen to him.  I thought well I’ve made hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of batches of soap. It’ll be like riding a bike.

You know what?

It wasn’t like  riding a bike.  Oh, don’t get me wrong. I know how to make soap but it’s the little things like how a recipe reacts in order to do certain designs.

But I persevered and got the soap done! My fingers, toes, and everything else is crossed waiting for the the unveiling tomorrow………..Here’s a preview of the top. This is FRESH and I’m hoping the inside looks just as good as the outside! What are your thoughts? Leave your comments below…..

Happy November 1st!

1 Nov

I just can not believe how time fly’s!

I’ve been extremely busy with the soap business and my personal life. And I just realized at this very moment (well, probably  ten minutes ago) that it’s November 1st! It’s November 1st and I haven’t written a post in like forever.

So I started thinking what could I share with you that would be a wealth of information.  AND Boom I remembered reading this awesome blog post about *ORGANIC and what that means written by The Sirona Springs Blog. You can read the post here. You need to go and read this post! Ruth Esteves really tells you everything you need to know when it comes to ORGANIC and soap products! She is the owner of Sirona Springs onlne and the co-owner of The Nova studio where she gets to teach what she loves to do.

Anyway, I hope you do go and read her post about what ORGANIC really means!

One thing that really gets to me….

12 Sep

I have the oils, butters, colors. fragrance and the mold ready to go. I have a vision in my mind of what I’d like to do in the mold. I’m ready!!

AND then it happens,

I go to get the distilled water

and boom.

NO Distilled Water.

Ah, really no distilled water? Yep, as I look again in disbelief — It’s true I have no distilled water. Needless to say it does take air out of my balloon a tiny bit.

Right away, I start thinking Milks, Beer, Apple juice, Aloe Vera and which liquid will best fit my needs.

I make my decision Buttermilk it will be.

So, I measure it out and put it into the freezer asap. Now, I wait! Hoping to get this batch done. I’ll post pics tomorrow (if it comes out, lol)

Whew, it’s HOT out there…..

New soap and Solid SHAMPOO Bars Pics!

14 May

I’ve been extremely BUSY trying to get everything in order for the

I’ve been making Lots of new Products….Like these Solid Shampoo bars (I use & Love them everyday):

I know there are a lot of people out there that frown upon using these types bars..Mainly because of the  Sodium Lauryl Sulphate or SLS. In the past years people believe that they cause cancer. The FACT is that there is absolutely no proof that it does and that’s according to the American Cancer Society.

After ALL of my years of making Cold Process Soaps. I still can’t switch my shampoo to a cold process shampoo bar. I make and sell lots of them.  I’ve tried MANY times to switch and each time my hair gets brittle and like hay and makes my head itch (you’re supposed to use an Apple cider vinegar rinse to bring the ph back to normal.) That’s too much work for me, as I don’t even use conditioner. LoL:)

These bars are GREAT because they can be customized.

Orange: Rosemary Grapefruit w/ Vitamin E

Yellow: Bergamot Geranium w/ Glycerin

Pink: Lavender w/ Jojoba

Green: Grapefruit / Avocado Oil

My Motto is:

Variety is the SPICE of LIFE.

Now, onto the new pics…..

Goat Milk

Goat Milk Soap packed with Olive Oil, Avocado Oil, Mango Seed Butter (just to name a few) and it’s scented with Essential Oils of Lime & Lavender. The Bluish layer is Alkanet Root with lots of Dead Sea Salt. The Greenish layer is Parsley Powder with Calendula and the Beige layer is left naked with no color.

Colored with Cocoa Powder & Lemon Powder. Poppy Seeds make it ALL come together.

Patchouli, Ylang & Sweet Orange.

Colored w/ Paprika, Annatto Seed & Pink Kaolin Clay.

11 Feb

I have a packed day ahead.

Lots of *Gonzo Pimple* soap  to be made along with my ever popular *CALLUS Remover* Soap. Plus, my creative juices started to flow again. I have a lot of new ideas that I hope will translate into some awesome looking soap. My fingers are crossed. As every Soap maker knows sometimes things just don’t happen the way you’d like them too……But I’ll keep my faith.

I’m hoping to post a New Recipe for ALL of my followers that love my recipes. Be on the look out. So with all that I said here are some new soap pics.

This soap I call the UPSIDE DOWN SOAP being that there are designs on both the up & down sides….
